well here it is! this is my first real blog so please, BEAR with me!!

Where to start? i know officating in sports!!!!!!

can't we just get it right, people are always screaming about the ref's in every sport so we have have gone to instant replay and people still arn't happy. Look people you can't have it both ways, i don't remember people crying like this in the 60's 70's 80's or early 90's.
So what has changed? i feel it is the amount of money being spent on tickets, concessions but more importantly, i think the BETTING on sports has completely taken the spectator aspect out of the game. I am a steelers fan (obviuosly) but i am so tired of hearing how the ref's should have been wearing black-n- gold in stead of stripes. I am tired of questioning every call on the court during a game wondering if the ref has a vested interest or not! just let them play and call the game clean!!!!!!

We either need to do away with the ref's and rely entirly on replay OR do away with replay and relay soley on the ref's with no challengeing the call or any dispute, but trying to use both systems is really killing the spirit of sports.

The current systems is calling for the officials to start second guessing calls, During the superbowl their where atleast three times the call was simple but the ref's were so scared of the replay and getting the call wrong, that they acrtually had to huddle up and discuss what to do. This does nothing for the sport but slow the game down. Just make the call from your gut and go with it! (the call was wrong on 2 of 3 accounts)

If the officals started just calling what they see and what they know, i beleive that  all these questionable calls will decline drastically.

Sure they wont all be the right call, but at least the world of sports can try to get back a small measure of respect and dignity by just call it straight and they way the see it.

my view on sports and officating

Seems that Baseball is going to try and correct this problem, "they are going to use vetren umpires for the world series"
Well if that is the case, why not use vetren umps for every game? That just doen't make sense to me, let's use inexpericaned officals during the reg. season and then bring in our big guns for the championship. Thats just down right stupid. Can we please get solid officating all the way threw a season. Last weekend a ref got ran over durning a football game, hey how about keeping them out of the way and just get the calls right. I am a avid sports fan and it just hiss's me off that i am bloggig about ref's. these pro leagues need to get together and figure out a system that will allow the ref's to just ref their respective sport and not have to take a second job durning the off season. MAYBE if they were paid  a deceant salery they could study the rules durning the off season, so when the real games start, we as fans are getting the best possiable product available instead of this 3rd world crap!!!!!!

my view on sports and officating

Well when i First posted this, who knew that the officating would just get worse? Know with basketball using replacement refs, where is the fan to turn for good clean sporting action that will be called correctly? Canada? i think not. This is thew greatest country in the word, you would think that the least would could do, is to provide our sports fans with the best possible product possible. The officating in the baseball game the other night was horrendous, Even a 2 year old knew that both runners for the Yankees were out but they even managed to get that wrong, Hines ward catches a touchdown rolls threw the back of the end zone with possion, no touchdown, are you kidding me? If they can't get it right then just go to all replay for calls. at least the camera can't get it wrong.
Well thanks for letting me get that off my chest. see yoou next time, hopefully with good news on the officating front.
